Point First: Legal Writing Academy

Point First: Legal Writing Academy is brought to you by a team from the Legal Writing Academy project at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Common Law. We are dedicated to improving legal writing anywhere. We designed it as a resource for students, lawyers, and teachers of legal writing. We had a great time putting it together and we hope you enjoy it and find it useful.

We proof read the website until we couldn’t see straight. But we know we missed errors. If you see an error lurking in the text, please let us know. Note that we intentionally used the oxford comma and Canadian punctuation and spelling conventions. (e.g. neighbor = neighbour and most periods will be outside the quotation marks)
